Invitation to participate
The European Section of the Society for Conservation Biology and the Hungarian Natural History Museum invites you to Eger, Hungary for the 1th European Congress of Conservation Biology.
Although conservation practice and research have a hundred-year history in Europe, no specific forum exists for the exchange of problems, ideas and results.
This keystone congress aims to bring together a wide array of academics, policy makers, students, NGO representatives and media from all over Europe. We believe that this will provide a springboard to develop a strong and integrated European community of conservation biologists.
Please, join us in Hungary! This country is situated in the heart of Europe, has a unique and diverse wildlife, and is the home of famous wines and cuisine. Just some of the many reasons to attend the congress in Eger, 2006!
Congress Theme
ECCB intend to cover all aspects of conservation biology under the theme of ''''diversity for Europe''''. We expect contributions to reflect the biological and cultural diversity of our continent, as well as the diversity of approaches to conservation. We have a specific intent to address the problems of linking science, policy and practice. We invite symposia, workshops and papers on a wide range of issues. Please visit the website, where a call for symposia will be presented in spring 2005, and call for papers in autumn 2005.
Expressions of Interest
Prospective attendees, authors and presenters are encouraged to indicate their interest - through the website - in attending the conference, submitting a paper or conducting a workshop.
