Newton International Fellowships at the University of Westminster

The School of Humanities of the University of Westminster is inviting expressions of interest for the Newton International Fellowships of the British Academy https://www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/funding/newton-international-fellowships/ The scheme enables researchers to work for two years at a UK institution with the aim of fostering long-term international collaborations. Funding consists of £30,000 per annum for subsistence costs, and up to £8,000 per annum research expenses, as well as a one-off payment of up to £3,500 for relocation expenses. Awards include a contribution to the overheads incurred, at a rate of 50% of the total award to the visiting researcher.

At Westminster we are happy to support proposals in the following areas:

Sociolinguistics of multilingualism
Sociolinguistics of migration and mobility
Language variation and change
Language and gender
Language contact, including the study of codeswitching and creole languages
History of English
