Hosting of Foreign Students

The Coordination of International Affairs (CAI) has developed the Program for Hosting of Foreign Students, which gives the staff and students at the Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG) the opportunity to receive foreign students in their home, during the period of academic activities at the UFG.   

 How does it work?

In this program, the CAI will be the intermediary between the host (which offers his home through a registration) and the guest (a foreign student that will take part in academic activities at the UFG) and needs a place to stay. The CAI/UFG is not responsible for any bonds developed between the host and the guest.

 The Host:

A staff member or student of the UFG who wishes to offer accommodation to foreign students needs to fill a registration at the CAI, offering information about the space to be made available (individual or shared room, etc) and for how long the space will be available. It is advisable that the place be located in a place that allows easy access to one of the campuses of the UFG. The host must establish “rules of coexistence” in his home and inform the guest about them at the moment of the agreement, respecting the cultural, ethnical, and linguistic differences. He must also explain the conditions of the hosting directly to the guest.   

The Guest:

A student of graduate or undergraduate courses, coming from a foreign institution, who remains at the UFG as a student in international academic mobility, for a period of 3 to 12 months, usually between the months of February to July, or August to December. The student will learn about the conditions of hosting directly with the host.

How to participate? 

The staff member or student of the UFG must fill an application form with their personal and academic information, as well as a description of the space being offered. It is advisable to provide photographs that show the place.  

The application form will be available at the CAI website (www.cai.ufg.br). It can also be obtained at the CAI, which is located at the Prédio da Reitoria, Campus II – Samambaia. The form must be filled, signed, and delivered in person at the CAI/UFG. It is advisable that the interested person call 3521 1165, scheduling a time with the person responsible for the Program at the CAI. In case there are difficulties to deliver the application form, the interested person may call the CAI, agreeing to send the documents by email.

The home will be visited by the person responsible for the Program at the CAI.

After analysis, the CAI will establish the communication between host and guest, and at that moment the conditions of hosting will be explained.

 Observations:

  •   The information in the forms can only be used by the Program.
  •   The UFG is not responsible for any bond generated between host and guest.
